Displaced not silenced! An evening with Eustaquio Polo
Submitted by evan on Fri, 03/21/2008 - 00:23.WEDNESDAY, APRIL 2, 2008, 7PM at Encuentro5
Nearly 4 million Colombians are displaced by state terror and by agribusinesses bent on turning land and water resources into export dollars...
Eustaquio Polo is a leader of displaced people battling to prevent their land from being turned into palm-oil plantations. As a consequence, he has been subject to death threats and accusations that he is a guerilla.
This event brings Polo to Boston, a city that has a close relationship with Colombia by way of immigration and because much of it's energy comes from Colombia.
Join us at 33 Harrison Ave, 5th Fl at 7PM on April 2nd to hear from an extraordinary grassroots people's leader.
Flyer for this event can be downloaded here
